Shipping Policy
Tubers can be shipped in early fall or late spring when there is a reduced threat of freezing weather. We will ship via USPS in late March or early April depending on weather suited to tuber shipment.
We ship dahlia tubers within the continental U.S. only. Tubers are carefully packaged to protect them during transit. Please note that shipping delays or damage are outside of our control and must be addressed directly with the carrier.
We do combine shipping on multiple orders using the same name, email and shipping address. Please leave us a note at check-out and we will refund the shipping costs. We have one rate for standard shipping so order all the tubers you want.
If you would like early shipping at your own risk, you can select that as an option at check out. Tubers shipped early are not guaranteed.
There is an option to pick-up tubers at the farm for local customers. Click that option at check-out. On Farm pick-up will be April 11 from 10-12. Our address is:

Early pick-up is scheduled for March 7th between 10 and 12 Noon Eastern. These must be pre-selected so we have your tubers packaged and ready for you. Please note: tubers picked up early, may not have developed sprouts and cannot be guaranteed.
If you miss your selected pick-up day we will contact you with an invoice for shipping. Once paid, we will ship to the home address provided with the original sale. Shipping Invoices not paid within three days will result in a non-refundable cancellation of your order.
You will receive an email when your label has been printed. We work in batches and notification of labels printing may happen a week prior to posting your tubers. You can track shipping through USPS and will be able to see when it has been posted.
Shipping is a flat rate of $18 and covers shipping & materials; this rate applies regardless of order size.
We have learned that shipping in small priority mail boxes limits our capacity to provide appropriate packaging and select our healthiest tubers. Not much fits in those small boxes. Based on this were have made the decision to have a single price for shipping that will cover most orders and allow for the best possible shipping outcomes. We understand shipping is expensive and encourage you to pick-up tubers if it is feasible.
Seed Orders will be combined and shipped with tuber orders where applicable. If ordered separately but shipped together, leave us a note or send us an email and we will refund the lower shipping amount.
If ordering just seeds, select the seed shipping option at checkout. Seeds will be shipped as First Class Mail. This will not be tracked or insured. Once seeds are mailed, subsequent concerns associated with shipping are not the responsibility of FlowerBird Farm. If you would prefer priority shipments for your seeds please contact us a we can arrange that with associated shipping costs.
