Customer Care
At FlowerBird Farm & Garden, we are gardeners, farmers, and land stewards.
We spend our days growing beautiful flowers to include in your arrangements and to be part of your special occasions. We offer a seasonal variety of fresh, local specialty cut flowers, bouquets, and arrangements suitable for every occasion.
In addition, we sell dahlia tubers and plant starts in the spring and fall. Our goal is to grow flowers and foster growing experiences that you love and enjoy.
Dahlia Tuber Shop Policies
Tuber Quality & Viability
We take great care to provide high-quality dahlia tubers. Each tuber is inspected prior to fulfillment to confirm the presence of a viable eye or early growth.As living storage stems, tubers naturally vary in size, shape, and appearance. Minor dryness, wrinkling, or softness is normal during dormancy and does not affect performance once planted. Each variety stores and wakes at its own pace, and visible growth may vary.Each purchase includes one dahlia tuber with a viable eye.
Dormancy & Early Season Expectations
Dahlia tubers are stored in a dormant state during winter using methods best suited to each variety. We begin waking tubers in late winter to confirm viability. Early-season tubers may not yet show visible sprouts and may require extra care to encourage growth. Early fulfillment or pick-ups are not guaranteed.
Proper Care
Store tubers in a cool, dark location until potting up or planting outside. Do not let your tubers dry out. Plant only after the danger of frost has passed, in full sun and well-drained soil. Avoid overwatering until growth is established.
Pick-Up Policies
On-farm pick-up dates are scheduled in advance. Customers are responsible for collecting orders on the selected pick-up dates and times. Missed pick-ups may incur additional handling fees and may result in order cancellation if not resolved within the stated timeframe.
Refunds & Replacements
Due to the living and perishable nature of dahlia tubers, physical returns are not accepted.
Refunds or replacements are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
If you have concerns upon receiving your tubers, please contact us within 72 hours and include clear photographs of the tuber(s) and packaging so we can fairly assess the issue. Tuber viability concerns received after 72 hours cannot be considered.
We are unable to offer refunds or replacements for issues related to shipping delays, weather, planting conditions, storage after receipt, or delayed communication.
Our tubers and flowers are meant to bring joy, and we truly want you to be successful. If something doesn’t seem right, please reach out—we’re always happy to work with you thoughtfully and reasonably.
