About the event

Have you ever wanted to grow those special flowers you see in summer bouquets? FlowerBird Farm has put together a Specialty Cut Flower Kit for you to grow the long stemmed gorgeous flower varieties that will let you create your own bouquets and arrangements . Whether you are planting a cutting garden or want some of these blooms in your garden beds, we have the plants, starts and seeds to successfully grow cut flower quality blooms this summer. Each kit comes with a combination of tubers, plants, seedlings and seeds that are ready to plant as of last frost (average last frost is mid-May here in Mount Pleasant, MI). During the event, we will provide tips and tricks to  be successful in your cutting garden efforts. We will also discuss harvesting and handing your flowers for a long vase life. Once you register we will reach out to ask you some questions about your favorite flowers and colors (look for an email after registration). We will use this information to select the best tubers, plant starts, seeds and seedlings to create the cutting garden that fits your needs. Specialty Cut Flower Kits will include a selection of plants and include a selection from the following: Dahlia tubers and starts; Lisianthus; Benary's, Queeny and/or Oklahoma Zinnia; Sunflowers; Potomac and Madam Butterfly Snapdragons; Feverfew; Celosia, Lemon Basil, Bells of Ireland, and more.
